E-MU® Systems recently announced their new Tracker Pre USB 2.0 at the 2008 Winter NAMM trade show in Anaheim California. Tracker Pre USB 2.0 Audio Interface/Mobile Preamp is the ultimate portable USB audio interface for Mac and PC, offering pristine 24-bit/192kHz recording and playback, direct monitoring, and a host of other professional features in a compact, USB bus-powered package.

Tracker Pre contains two E-MU™ Class-A, ultra-low noise Mic/Line/Hi-Z preamplifiers that can be run independently or in stereo to record guitars, bass, keyboards or microphones with optimal audio performance. CurrentMorph™ is a patent-pending circuit design that allows Tracker Pre to offer +48V phantom power and use our XTC premium high-power converters, while using only USB bus power.

E-MU’s recently updated Production Tools Software Bundle is also included, providing a host of powerful Mac and PC audio and MIDI applications - everything needed to create, record, edit, and master CDs. The Tracker Pre USB will begin shipping in the in January 2007 at an estimated street price of £119.99/ €149.99 (including VAT). The estimated street price in the US is $149.99.

PatchMix 2.0 Released

At long last the official version of PatchMix 2.0 is available for download at: www.emu.com. PatchMix 2.0 includes both application and driver changes. The major changes are listed below.

After extensive testing, E-MU® Systems has announced the release of Windows® Vista® 32-bit & 64-bit compatible applications and drivers for the 0202 USB 2.0 and 0404 USB 2.0 digital audio interfaces. All E-MU audio interface products are now compliant with Microsoft’s “Works with Windows” guidelines.

The Advanced Applications Guide for Emulator X / Proteus X contains 43 lessons covering all aspects of programming these powerful musical instruments. The 150 page guide is designed for new users and expert programmers alike with numerous illustrations and step-by-step instructions for each lesson.
The guide is divided into four chapters: Fundamentals, Intermediate Lessons, Special Effects, and Advanced Applications. The lessons are ordered in approximate order of complexity, but the guide is designed such that you can start with any lesson that interests you.
